Why Hers?

Ask Mat who the cars belong to. “Her”

Ask him who everything else belongs to. “Hers too”

It’s a pretty funny joke in our marriage but there is more behind it. Mat has always worked hard for his wife and children, so when we needed a name for the business we were finally building together, there no other choice.

Hers Auto Works- because according to Mat, it was probably hers anyway.

Why Hers Auto Works?

Mat and I grew up right around the corner on Eyrich Rd. We were next door neighbors and even rode to school together many days. In 2014 we reconnected and eventually had our son. Today our son even attends the same school we once went to . We built a life together and knew from the beginning we made a good team.

Automotive has been a part of Mats life for over 25 years. After graduating from the Automotive technician program at Diamond Oaks. He has been turning wrenches ever since.

For Me this is not just another office job working with my husband. I want to bring a women’s perspective to an industry that can sometimes feel intimating, especially for customers who don’t know a lot about cars. I believe no one should feel like they need to understand cars before walking into a repair shop.

Our Story

We had the opportunity to work together, and our marriage actually grew stronger and we loved it. One of our goals since 2014 has to build something of our own.

Like every family, life hasn’t always gone according to plan. On January 14th, 2026, we lost my mom after a 90-day battle with cancer. She was our biggest supporter. Losing her so quick really reminded us that the things we keep saying well do “someday” doesn’t always need to wait.

When the opportunity came for us to take a chance on us and open Hers Auto Works, we decided it was time. Just like our Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said, “it’s now or never.”

We’re still the two kids who grew up next door to one another. Hers Auto Works is our next chapter, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes us. We hope you’ll be a part of that story.
